The Art in Storytelling

We all love to tell a story, We all love to hear a story – and hey, we’re in the business of storytelling (who isn’t these days?). But since ‘the story’ has superseded ‘the big idea’ and ‘the journey’ how do we tell the difference between a good story and a bad story and more importantly how do we sell it?

Well fortunately for us, last night we trekked on down to the SheSays event ‘Finding Great Stories’ at Barker on Wall Street, New York. I guess you could say this is a story, to explain that story, about how to sell the best story.

The brief is come up with solutions that connect refugees, this could be connecting them in camps, into where they arrive or to their families back home. Ad-ventures Abroad : Tbilisi

Newsflash - getting a job in advertising in London is a tough grind. It's even harder, if not impossible, to do it in a year after graduating even if you're a genetically engineered creative cyborg child prodigy, which I wasn't, but a foreigner trying to get a degree whilst navigating the bizarre social conundrum a.k.a the British party etiquette. A year spent on the Cornish cliffs had made me weak, and rabid pigeons and the Shoreditch twats had made me strong and weak again. One way or another, with a couple of placements under my belt and shiny new degree in tow, it was time to suck it up and head home*.
