Last night I was a critter at the DMA / IDM / Graeme Robertson Trust Big Book Crit in London. There are a few more happening in Manchester, Norwich, Edinburgh and Bristol TOMORROW. So if you’re reading this and haven’t registered, head here.
We had 15 minute crits with student/grad teams – which isn’t a lot for someone like me who waffles on – but it did throw up a few thoughts that I thought might be good if you attend something similar in the future. *Cough* a bit like our R/GA Speed Dating in a couple of weeks.
Here are a few ideas to get the most out of your quick-fire crits.
We’ve partnered up with Creative Conscience awards and Cause2Create to launch a creative brief around the Refugee crisis. The aim to improve connectivity, within camps, when re-settling in a new location, or how communities receiving refugees can help. This is a brief where the winning ideas can actually get made - so they can help real people.
The new year is upon us and with that a flurry of events to inspire your tickers, noggins, brains or whatever you choose to call that thing at the top of your body are here.
Creative Social as always have got a bunch of jolly neat stuff lined up for the year, the first being Creative Super Powers. A session to help you reconnect with your inner free creative spirit, getting you ready to be fucking shit hot this year.
The wonderful folk at Creative Equals have a super interesting evening lined up called 'Creating advertising more women (and men) buy’ on the 14th June. The evening has a pretty impressive host of speakers including; JWT’s Rachel Pashley, Mr President's Laura Jordan Bambach, AKQA’s Masaya Nak to name a few.
Now, we’ve got 2 pairs of tickets (worth £18 each) up for grabs. If you'd like to get your hands on them, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to have your name entered into the pot. In return, the attendees will be asked to do a little write up of the evening to be featured on the YCC feed...
So what you waiting for go go goooo!
For more info and the purchase tickets yourself check out the event HERE.
So Meal Of Fortune like totally happened last week, and from the sounds of things they all had a great time!
For this first never seen before event we brought together the lovely Paul and Laila (senior creatives at Karmarma) with hungry* Jess and Alicia (interning at Iris). This lovely couple of couples got to dine at advertising hotspot, Caravan on Exmouth market, with many a small plate to bond over whilst awkwardly finger bumping.
*for work and a just little bit for the food.
